Job Description: Registered Nurse (RN)

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

  • Valid and current RN license in the state of North Carolina

  • CPR certified, good standings on nurse registry

  • 1-3 years of nursing experience (home care experience, preferred)

  • Supervisory skills, a plus

  • Excellent communication skills, flexible and able to interact positively with the rest of the staff

  • Strong sense of initiative and urgency in addressing unexpected patient crises

  • Self-directed, able to work without the presence of an immediate supervisor

  • Commitment to regulatory compliance and to submitting all documentation in a timely fashion

  • Demonstrated knowledge regarding exposure to body fluids and chemicals, as well as to some hazardous equipment

Must have the ability to:

  • See and hear adequately to respond to auditory and visual requests

  • Pass a background screen

  • Travel as required and be in possession of a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance

  • Evidence of adequate health status to perform duties

  • Possess excellent computer skills, complete required forms, documents in a timely manner to ensure compliance

  • Physical abilities to adequately perform described duties


Job Description: Nurse Aide (In-Home Aide)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Nurse Aide (In-Home Aide) will provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living in the client’s home. The Nurse Aide will provide those services that are outlined under the State of N.C. Nurse Aide Registry, as well as Federal and Agency expectations. All tasks are performed under the guidance and supervision of the Registered Nurse to ensure quality and safe delivery of services. All services rendered will be done in accordance with the client Plan of Care orders.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Maintain current listing with the N.C. Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide

  • Be able to read, write, and follow the instructions

  • Must have completed and approved Nurse Aide training program and or approved competency evaluation program

  • Have a positive attitude toward the care of the sick and elderly

  • Demonstration of maturity and proficiency in performing the necessary job duties

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, personal means of transportation, and a safe driving record

  • Must have a good Nurse Aide or health care work experience history in a similar work area or agency

  • Follow the Plan of Care

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written/verbal communication

  • Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, which may include heavy lifting and extensive bending and standing


Job Description: Companion

POSITION SUMMARY:

Companions help provide emotional support, caregiver assistance and companionship to older adults. As a companion you may be asked to assist with light housekeeping. Companions provide non-hands on assistance to clients in their home.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide a companion for client without providing personal or hands-on care

  • Keep clients in sight at all times, except for bathroom breaks. Breaks may be taken only when it is safe for the client

  • Report any changes in client status to the office nurse immediately

  • Keep the client’s area clean and uncluttered

  • Prepare light meals for the client when asked

  • Use all work hours to manage, entertain, clean workspace, prepare meals, and provide companionship for the client

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be over 18 years of age

  • Must be a North Carolina resident free from any charges from the law enforcement agency and/or other disciplinary actions

  • Have references from a similar job in the past year and preferably two to five years experience preferred in a sitter/companion type position

  • Obtain a passing score on any tests required for the proper care of the clients as deemed necessary by the Service Supervisor or authorized company staff

  • Have no accusations or listing on the Health Care Personnel Registry
